Raymond Umphrey

Raymond Earl Umphrey, age 77 of Inkster ND passed away on Friday May 9, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Park River ND.

He was born on July 7, 1947 to Elwyn “Bumps” and Violet (Carlson) Umphrey in Fordville ND.  He attended Inkster School and finished the 8th grade. He was united in marriage to Florence (Swenson) on April 2, 1966 in Roy Lake MN. The couple made their home in Inkster ND. He worked in the potato house, drove truck for road construction, and retired September 2023 from driving potato truck for Altendorf Trucking. He was most proud of his driving record of 50 years with no accidents.

He is survived by his children Paul (Rebecca) Umphrey, Terry (Stacey) Umphrey, Tammy (Randy) Pallum, Robert Umphrey, and Deborah (Roger) Ackley, and by his 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Douglas (Teresa) Umphrey, Steven Umphrey, Carol Tupa and a sister-in-law Della (Robert) Umphrey. He is survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, his parents Elwyn and Violet, brothers Ronald (Gus), Robert Umphrey, and sisters Doris Umphrey and Lucinda (Lucy) Monroe.

FUNERAL SERVICES:  Saturday, May 17 at 1 p.m. in the Inkster Hall, Inkster, ND.

VISITATION:  Friday, May 16 from 5-7 p.m with a 6 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore.

INTERMENT:  Inkster Cemetery, Inkster, ND
