Royal Ellis Johnson

Royal Johnson 97 of Inkster ND passed away on April 7th 2018 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks ND.

Royal was born July 29, 1920 in Wheatfield Township near Inkster ND, the son of David and Sarah (Steen) Johnson.  He served in the US Navy during World War II from December 1941-October 1945.
He worked as a mechanic, carpenter and in farming.

Royal married Dorothy Grabanski  June 14, 1946.  The couple raised 4 children and farmed in the
Inkster area.  Dorothy passed away on October 12, 1978.  Royal married Judith Halligan on September 14th, 1994.  They lived in Pisek ND later retiring in Grand Forks ND.  Royal enjoyed gardening and woodworking; making many clocks, birdhouses and yard art for family and friends.  In recent years, he enjoyed drawing and watching old westerns.

Royal is survived by his wife Judith, sons Sidney (Linda), Dale (Shelly), Rodney and daughter Bonnie (Roger Setness).  His step children Kelli Curran (Nick), Ronnie, Chris (Christa), and Rick (Nancy) as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.
