Sandra Norgard

Sandra Kaye Norgard, age 77, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 at her home in Grand Forks, with her daughter Ladene by her side after a long battle with cancer.

Sandy was born January 30, 1945 to Arthur and Hazel (Evenson) Swenningson, in Tagus, ND.  She attended school in Stanley, ND.  Sandy married Dennis E. Norgard from Hartland, ND on February 14, 1962 in Palermo, ND.  They lived in Minot and many small towns surrounding Minot until moving to Larimore in 1968.  She worked many jobs in Larimore, starting with the Legion Café in 1972, Johnson Store Warehouse in 1974 and Hank and Jans in 1982, also Metropolitan Bank in 1983.  From there she went to the Grand Forks Air Force Base and worked for Pro Serve in 1988 until retiring in 2004.

She moved to Grand Forks in 2001 to be closer to her daughter Ladene and grandson Austin.  She spent most of her time with them as she loved to spoil her grandson Austin.  In her free time she loved to go to garage sales, having coffee with friends and working in her yard.

Surviving members of her family include her daughter Ladene Norgard and grandson Austin Gray.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dennis E. Norgard on December 25, 2000; her parents Arthur and Hazel Swenningson; brothers Roland (Dean), Richard, Robert and Rick.

FUNERAL SERVICES:  10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10,  in the Bakke Funeral Chapel in Larimore.

VISITATION:  One hour prior to the service.

INTERMENT:  Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore.
