Sandra "Sandy" Vetter

Sandra Kay (Knapp) Vetter 72 of Larimore North Dakota. mother, sister, daughter, wife, and friend passed away in her home on December 29th 2019.

Born August 23, 1947, the daughter of George Knapp and Mary Ruth Woods, Sandy grew up in Atkins, Iowa with her father and 4 sisters.

She was much loved by all her family and enjoyed gardening, antiquing, and visiting with her sisters whenever time allowed.

She married Gordon Rudy in 1968 and moved to his family’s ranch south of Linton, ND to start a family of their own.

They had 3 children Michelle Rudy of Fort Worth TX, Jeff (Tonia) Rudy of Hatton ND, and Denise (Mark) Wissmueller of Apopka FL who love & miss her dearly.

In 1989 she married her second husband, Larry Vetter and moved to Larimore, ND where she was very active with the American Legion and Auxiliary. She also worked at the Larimore Good Samaritan Society and enjoyed caring for the residents residing there.

Sandy spent the vast majority of her life as a caretaker of others. Whether it be the residents of the nursing home, her family, or her extended family, Sandy’s smile, laughter, and kindness made the world a better place for everyone whose lives she touched.

Sandy is survived by her husband Larry Vetter, her children Michelle, Jeff, and Denise, ex-husband Gordon, sisters Earlene (Eldon) Stueck, Linda Stark, and Mary (Steve) Noeller, and countless nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father George, mother Ruth, infant sister Georgia Ruth and sister Arlene (Bob) Johnson.

According to her wishes, Sandy will be laid to rest with her family in Atkins, Iowa at Raetz Memorial Cemetery.
