Thelma Meyer, age 100, Larimore, ND and formerly Petersburg, ND, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society-Larimore.
Thelma was born October 2, 1914 at a farm east of Aneta, ND, the daughter of George and Nellie (Ellefson) Moe. She received Holy Baptism at Logan Lutheran Church and confirmed her Christian faith at Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta. Thelma attended grade school in Rugh Township and graduated from Aneta High School in 1933. Thelma married Edwin Meyer on July 1, 1936 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Larimore. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1997.
Thelma was a member of Petersburg Lutheran Church in Petersburg where she was active in the Ladies Aid, as a Sunday School Teacher and the Willing Workers. She was a member of Farmers Union all her life and served as a local and county youth leader.
Surviving members of her family include her son: Gerald (Theresa) Meyer, Petersburg; granddaughters: Samantha Sackett and Amanda (Charlie) Kubousek; great grandsons: Caleb Gomez Sackett and Blake Madison Sackett; and great granddaughter: Aspen Sackett.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Sheila Kay; parents and her brother Lawrence Moe.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Petersburg Lutheran Church, Petersburg.
VISITATION: Wednesday, May 6 from 6-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home, Larimore. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Thursday.
INTERMENT: Petesburg Cemetery, Petersburg.
