Vivian Behm

Vivian A. Behm, 92, formerly of Niagara, ND, died on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Larimore Good Samaritan Center.

Vivian Ann Madson was born to Palmer & Aletta (Gilbertson) Madson on July 23, 1928 at rural Niagara.  She was baptized, confirmed and later married at Elk Valley Lutheran Church, rural McCanna.  She was educated through 8 ^th grade at Elkmount Country School, close to her childhood home. She married Ferdinand (Fernie) Behm on June 18, 1950 and they farmed & raised their family together north of Niagara.  Fernie died on December 19, 1988.  Vivian was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Niagara.

Over the years, Vivian enjoyed raising chickens and selling eggs, babysitting for family & friends (she loved babies!) and making homemade buns, pies and cookies.  But most of all, she will be remembered for her sweet, selfless nature and her unconditional love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, James, Paul & Ronald Madson and daughters-in-law, Susan Behm & Sandi Behm.  She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Thoe of Fordville & Geneva Flaaskog of Grafton, her brother, Jerry (Janet) Madson of Fordville; sisters-in-law:  Sylvia Madson of Fordville, and Avis Madson of Grand Forks; her sons, Lynn of Niagara, Lou of Hillsboro, Loren (Fran Clemens) of Owasso, OK, and daughter, LeeAnn (Rob) Ouradnik of Lakota; grandchildren, Matthew (Mikki) Behm of Larimore, Carrie Ouradnik of Madison, WI, Lyndsay (Leevi) Stave of Niagara, Erin (Jason) Dreher of Grace City, Andrew (Jessica) Ouradnik of Ogden, UT and Justin Behm of Denver, CO and 11 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Larimore Good Samaritan staff for their loving care of Vivian since 2014.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Niagara at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29, with VISITATION one  hour prior to the service.

A PRAYER SERVICE will be held at Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore on Wednesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in St. Andrew Lutheran Cemetery.
