WENDELL PFANNSMITH
Wendell Pfannsmith, age 81, of Fordville, ND, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Wendell John Pfannsmith was born September 11, 1930 at Fordville, the son of Lester and Hazel (Ridgway) Pfannsmith. He was raised and grew to manhood at Fordville; and graduated from Fordville High School. He served in the United States Army from 1954 - 1956.
Wendell married Janice Johnson on June 18, 1961 in Fordville. Following their marriage, they lived and made their home in Fordville. Wendell was a heating plant operator at the Grafton Development Center. He also farmed and was a self-employed electrician in Fordville.
The couple cared for foster children in their home, eventually adopting Jacob.
Wendell served as mayor of Fordville for several years and was a member of the Fordville American Legion.
Surviving members of his family include his daughter: Wendy (Randall) Blasky, Fordville; sons: Larry (Sandra) Pfannsmith, West Fargo and Kevin (Lisa) Pfannsmith, Bismarck; grandchildren: Tanya, Nicole, Ashley, Brennen, Jason, Ryan and Derek; 4 great grandchildren and sisters: Lulu Sve, Fargo and Claudia (Art) Graham, Enumclaw, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Jacob, and granddaughter: Emily.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Fordville Presbyterian Church in Fordville.

INTERMENT: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville.

MILITARY HONORS: Rotnem Abel Post No. 274, Fordville American Legion.

VISITATION: Monday, July 16 from 5 - 7 p.m. in the Bakke Funeral Home of Fordville. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Tuesday.

Officiating will be Rev. Paul Keil. Music selections will be provided by Joyce Keil as the Organist and Rose Lynne Miller, Soloist. Casket bearers will be Brennen Blasky, Jason Gothe, Don Daley, Art Graham, Gary Mitchell and Shawn Thorvilson.
